Pathfinder for the History and Theory of Graphic Design and Typography

The purpose of this  library "pathfinder" is to help students locate useful resources to complete assignments for classes. Many of the books and periodicals can be found in the Martin Luther King Jr. library (Fall 2003). Those that are not available on-campus, are either accessible through LINK+ (the online network of California State University Libraries), which usually takes 3 days, or (especially for certain current periodicals) Stanford University Art and Architecture Library. The Art and Architecture Library at Stanford allows visitors to use their reference room (where all the current periodicals, reference books and any call# starting with A, B and P-Z are) without registering. If you would like to have books paged (call#1s starting with C-N and TR), you must register first at Green Library, where you will receive 7 days of privileges free. Those 7 days do not have to be consecutive, and you are allowed to page up to 10 books at one time/day. The Art and Architecture Library is non-circulating, so, nothing may be checked out.

After the citation for each reference in this pathfinder, you will either find a call number - which means it is at MLK Jr.Library, or you will be given another option for obtaining the material if it is unavailable at SJSU. You can request books that are unavailable (even if they are just checked out) at SJSU by using LINK+.  LINK+ can be reached through the SJSU Library website at - http://library.sjsu.edu.  Click on the Research Tools Button.
Then choose LINK+. Go directly to the order form  by clicking LINK+ now. Fill out the form and the library will update your circulation records (online) when the book is received. (usually about 3 days)
