Joe Miller has been a designer at Atari, a senior designer at the international public relations firm Burson-Marsteller, and since 1987, principal of joe miller's company, a design firm concentrating on the image and identity of high technology corporations and cultural institutions.

Joe miller's company clients include Compaq, Hitachi Data Systems, Trend Micro, and Arts Council Silicon Valley. Pro bono clients include Works/San José, and Free at Last. Joe is also known locally for his poetry and spoken-word performances. he has been a member of the graphic design faculty at San José State University since 1988.
