bio James Stoecker has worked for several agencies and corporations in art direction roles, on projects ranging from collateral and identity to environmental design, software development, and process methodology.These include Huffy Bicycles, Electric Image, Silicon Graphics, Franklin Templeton, Intel, Exemplary Inc., Frog Design, USWeb CKS,Robertson Stephens, and Glass House Studio. Pro bono clients include: California Institute of the Arts: Posters for the Visiting Artists Program Collateral for The Blount Historical Foundation, Knoxville Tennessee. He has taught at California Institute of the Arts, Art Center College of Design, L.A.C.P.S. (design workshops for at-risk youths in L.A. County). He has been a member of the graphic design faculty at San Jose State since 1995. James' work has been recognized in these exhibits and publications: Emigre Magazine (vol. 21), also included in the permanent collection at MOMA; Fast Forward, a CalArts publication; Digital Type, Rockport Publishers; Typography Now: Vol. ll; Letterforms, Heller and Thompson; Print: A Cold Eye: XLVlll:ll. Graphic Design USA: Four awards for publication design. Honorarium: Lecture Panel & Exhibit at Western Carolina University. Guest lecturer at Southern California University. |
